The Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker tube combo amplifier is based on the JTM45, widely considered to be the definitive '60s Marshall. With 30-watts of power channeled through dual 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speakers, you'll command the legendary guitar tones of '60s rock legends. Your guitar will sing
If vintage blues and rock tones are what you crave, you'll love the Marshall 1962 Bluesbreaker. Take a hint from the name - this isn't a high-gain amp for metal, nor is it a programmable, multi-channel monster. This is the guitar tone that shaped the sound of '60s blues and rock, from sweet and smooth clean tones to overdriven, growling dirt. One channel and basic tone controls are all that's needed for iconic tone, and the built-in tremolo sounds so vintage you'll be playing "Born on the Bayou" for days. And if you need to push the 1962 Bluesbreaker to the limit, just put your favorite gain boost pedal in front of it and listen to your guitar sing.
Celestion Greenback speakers
Marshall chose Celestion Greenback speakers for their unquestionable vintage rock tone. Think rich midrange, a warm low-frequency response that's neither too tight or too loose, and a gentle high-frequency rolloff that sounds right whether you're playing clean or full-bore. You'll instantly recognize the classic sound when you hear it, and it's the perfect foundation for rock and blues guitar.
Low wattage - for a vintage Marshall
The 1962 Bluesbreaker is a re-issue of the classic Marshall JTM45 amp, which only use 30 watts of power to create its epic tones. That's pretty low power when you consider Marshall's other models at the time. But 30 watts is perfect for live use in small to medium sized venues, and it's ideal for recording. You can get the sound of a fully-pegged tube amp at a much more reasonable volume level, reducing mic bleed in your studio and your on-stage volume when gigging out.
